Adult Education

We hear and read a lot these days about the disenchantment of citizens with the federal government of the United States, about its fierce partisanship, inability to get needed things done, and its lack of accountability. Mike Kobran, who was an adjunct professor of political science at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey, has prepared a program that will define the structural problems in the U.S. Constitution that has led to this situation. He will also deal with the rise of American ªexceptionalismº after World War II and how that has exacerbated our problems and present some of the reform ideas that may help us in our quest for a workable democracy. The program will be presented on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and will have a time for discussion after the multi-media presentation. The suggested donation to UUSMV is $10 per adult with students being free. The proceeds will be used to supplement UUSMV outreach and education programs.
